SUPERNATURAL PROVISION (EX.16)

Then the whole community of Yisharal set out from Elim and journeyed into the wilderness of Sin, between Elim and Mount Sinai. They arrived there on the 15th day of the 2nd month, exactly one month after leaving the land of Egypt. And all the community of Yisharal started to bitch, winge and complain to Moses and Aaron. “Why didn’t Yahuah kill us back in Egypt where we sat in comfort, around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now, look, YOU TWO FOOLS have brought us out into this wilderness to starve us all to death”.

Then Yahusha said to Moses, “Don’t worry about them, I’m going to send down food from the sky for you all like rain and each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. And I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow My instructions and behave or not, because on the sixth day they will have to gather twice as much as usual and prepare it.” SHABATH TRAINING

So Moses and Aaron said to all the people of Yisharal, “When evening comes maybe you’ll finally get over yourselves and realise that it was Yahuah Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, NOT US! And in the morning you will see His esteem, because He has heard your DISGUSTING COMPLAINTS, which are really against Him, not us! I mean what the hell have we done for you to grumble about? Yahuah will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for HE HAS HEARD ALL OF YOUR PRECIOUS PRINCESS WHINING AGAINST HIM. What? What have we done? You can all well and truly bugger off with your complaints about us cause we’ve done nothing to you. Your complaint and your fight is against Yahuah, not us.”

Then Moses said to Aaron, “Announce this to the entire community of Yisharal, ‘Come and present yourselves before Yahuah, for He has heard your complaints and protest.’”

And as Aaron spoke to Yisharal, they looked out towards the wilderness and they could see the awesome esteem of YAHUSHA in the cloud. And that evening a sea of quails flew in, swarming and covering the whole camp. And the next morning the area around the camp was wet with dew, but when the dew evaporated, a flaky round substance as fine as frost blanketed the ground.

And the Yisharalites were puzzled when they saw it and said to each other, “What is it?” (MAN-HU? IN HEBREW) for they had no idea what it was.

And Moses told them, “It’s the food Yahuah has given you to eat, now pay attention cause this is what He wants you to do with it. Each household needs to gather as much as they need. Pick up two litres for each person in your tent.”

So the people of Yisharal did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little. But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. And each family had just what it needed.

Then Moses told them, “Don’t keep any of it till morning.”

But some of them didn’t listen and kept some until the morning and it was full of maggots and had a terrible smell, and Moses was furious with them. So after this the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need. And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared.

And on the sixth day, they gathered twice as much as usual (4 litres for each person instead of two). Then all the leaders of Yisharal came and asked Moses for an explanation and He told them, “This is what Yahuah says: ‘Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a Shabath, set apart to Yahuah. So bake or boil as much as you want today, and set aside what is left for tomorrow.’”

So they put some aside until morning, just as Moses had instructed and in the morning the leftover food was wholesome and edible, without maggots or odor. And Moses said, “Eat this food today, for today is a Shabath dedicated to Yahuah. There will be no food on the ground today. You may gather the food for six days, but the seventh day is the Shabath and there will be no food on the ground that day.”

And some of the people went out anyway on the seventh day, but they found no food and went hungry, so YAHUSHA said to Moses, “How long will these people refuse to obey My instructions? Surely they realise that the Shabath is a gift for you. That’s why I give you a two-day supply on the sixth day, so there will be enough for two days. So on the Shabath day you must all stay in your places. Don’t go out of your place to pick up food on the seventh day.”

So they didn’t gather any food on the seventh day anymore. And the people of Yisharal called the food that Yahuah sent from the sky, manna (what is it?) for it was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey wafers.

Then Moses said, “This is what Yahuah has instructed: Go fill a 2 Litre container with manna to preserve it for your descendants. Then later generations will be able to see the food that I gave you in the wilderness when I set you free from Egypt”.

And Moses said to Aaron, “Get a jar and fill it with 2 Litres of the manna. Then put it in a safe place to preserve it for all future generations.”

And Aaron did just as YAHUSHA had told Moses, putting some manna aside in a safe place to keep as a witness of YAHUSHA’S protection and provision for future generations (later he would keep it in the ‘Ark’ of the Blood-Covenant-Witness, next to the stone tablets written by YAHUSHA).

So the people of Yisharal ate manna for forty years until they arrived at the land where they would settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.

YISHARAL STILL WEREN’T ENTIRELY SURE EXACTLY WHO OR WHAT HAD FREED THEM FROM SLAVERY. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD PHYSICALLY LEFT EGYPT, THE SUPERSTITIONS AND PAGAN MINDSET THEY HAD ABSORBED FROM THEIR YEARS IN BONDAGE WERE STILL PART OF THEIR MINDSET. LIKE ALL OTHER NATIONS THE YISHARALITES WERE STILL FILLED WITH ALL KINDS OF WITCHCRAFT, BELIEVING IN MAGIC AND SORCERY. THIS IN SPITE OF ALL THE PLAGUES BACK IN EGYPT, IN SPITE OF THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA, IN SPITE OF YAHUSHA’S PRESENCE BEING MANIFESTED AS A CLOUD BY DAY AND A FIRE BY NIGHT, THE PEOPLE WERE STILL NOT ENTIRELY CONVINCED THAT IT WAS YAHUSHA WHO HAD FREED THEM.
